I had to write this tool as part of the toolkit for future performance tests of the login server I wrote on the .NET platform. In order for the server performance tests to be as close to reality as possible, it was necessary to write a tool for managing the database so that any number of “plausible” accounts could be generated.
As a result, a decision was made to expand the functionality of the program not only for generating a database for tests “on real data”, but also a full-fledged tool for managing game accounts for a running project.
A lot of convenient features were added to the functionality for full control of the connection and state of the database and tables, export and import of data in full and in parts, and much more. Thus, I implemented the usual functionality of the database manager but with a link to the specific features of the Lineage 2 authorization server.
In account generation, I used the Blowfish hash on behalf of the account as a password, since full emulation of the data is necessary so that they are valid not only for the .NET server, but also for the L2J source server. The main task is not to change the server code for tests in order to have a correct result taking into account the time spent by the server on the network part and cryptographic when processing a packet from an “agent” that completely emulates the game client for the authorization server.
